Cottage by the Sea will host its annual fundraising raceday at the Geelong Racing Club on Friday 31st May 2013, 12 noon.

This fun and relaxed raceday hosted by Australia’s most awarded milliner Kerrie Stanley, will sure to delight guests with raffles and auctions taking place during the day, all proceeds raised going directly to the Cottage by the Sea.

Cottage by the Sea supports disadvantaged kids and families in need by providing a break in a holiday environment and relief for families and carers. The Cottage has been doing this important work for over 120 years and relies solely on the generosity of the community, with no government funding.

“We are really excited about the Cottage by the Sea raceday and look forward to building on what was a great success last year was.” General Manager of Cottage by the Sea, Tony Featherston said.

Cats star Jimmy Bartel has recently come on board as an ambassador for Cottage by the Sea and is excited about this new role, he has already been spotted at the Cottage mentoring the kids.

Tickets are still available and at $80.00 per head or $750.00 for a table of 10 – inclusive of racecourse admission, racebook, delicious three course lunch and drinks and entertainment represents great value.

Open Garden Weekend – a Cottage by the Sea event

This event will be an Open Garden Weekend on October 27 & 28th, at ‘Balgowan’ at Taggerty, in the Acheron Valley.

Cottage by the Sea staff and volunteers will be offering morning/afternoon tea and a sausage sizzle to raise funds for the Cottage over the weekend.

Our Community Relations Manager, Anne Catchpole, thanked Quota Heildelberg for a fantastic fun night enjoyed by an audience of 70 at Doncaster Playhouse last Thursday to watch Sherbrooke Theatre Company in their production of ‘Slim Chance’. Sherbrooke provide the Full Dress Rehearsal evening for free, allowing Quota to donate the proceeds of the evening to pay for two children from Banyule region to attend Cottage camps over January holidays. Teddies and books were also donated. Our sincere thanks Quota Heidelberg.

School holiday camps

Two lucky groups, each of 25 children, have enjoyed a wonderful week at Cottage by the Sea over the school holidays. Some of the children have even come from as far as Wodonga! They have been treated to sunshine, fresh air, lots of fun at the beach and loads of fresh healthy food. Well done Marco in the kitchen and the wonderful camp leaders
